HOT SHOCKING UPDATE!!! Fans wanted Donnie Wahlberg to rock NKOTB hits on ‘Blue Bloods’ karaoke—what song should he have sung?

Normally, the Reagans on “Blue Bloods” are all business all of the time.

A standard episode will see them in uniform as they protect

the streets of New York. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and

Jamie (Will Estes) often have to chase criminals down on foot

while their sister Erin (Bridget Moynahan) puts bad guys behind bars from the relative safety of her assistant district attorney’s office. They get a chance to let their guards down somewhat when they all gather for the weekly Reagan dinner, where they enjoy a meal together as a family, but it’s rare to see the family cut loose.

That changes every so often when we see a member of the Reagan family outside of their natural environment, as was the case with Season 12, Episode 1, “Hate is Hate.” Toward the end of this episode, we see Danny having a blast at a karaoke bar, and while he lets loose for a little bit, some fans thought the moment was a major missed opportunity for Wahlberg to show off his skills from his previous profession.

Fans wanted Donnie Wahlberg to sing something from New Kids on the Block

Donnie Wahlberg wasn’t always an actor. In fact, he got his start in the entertainment industry as one of the members of the original boy band, New Kids on the Block. Suffice to say, he has a pretty good singing voice, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when in “Hate is Hate,” he goes up to sing karaoke while out to dinner with Maggie Gibson (Callie Thorne). He decides to sing “Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones, but a lot of fans seem to think there was another song that would’ve made more sense for Danny to sing.

Redditor u/mdnitedrftr started a thread saying, “When Danny was at the karaoke bar, did anyone else want him to sing some NKOTB? I thought that would have been awesome!” Others seem to agree that it would’ve been a cool meta moment, although granted, it would’ve raised questions in the “Blue Bloods” universe, such as who’s the fifth member of New Kids if Donnie Wahlberg is off solving crimes?

However, one fan wanted a different kind of song that would’ve been just as entertaining to see: “I wanted Good Vibrations from Markie Mark.” The actor’s brother, Mark Wahlberg, also got his start in the music business before transitioning to acting and seeing Donnie perform Mark’s biggest hit definitely would’ve been something to behold. Still, you can’t go wrong with a Rolling Stones standard, so maybe it was all for the best.
