Fans of BBC’s Casualty have sent a big warning out after some

sadder-than-ever scenes on the show last night. Those watching BBC’s

medical drama were in for a surprise when Sunetra Sarker’s character

turned up as a temporary doctor in Wyvern ED, which left Dylan Keogh stunned.

But it didn’t shock senior nurse Charlie Fairhead. He let slip he and Dr Zoe Hanna (Sunetra) had been to dinner just the night before.

They revealed earlier that Sarker was returning as Zoe for two shows so she could spend time with Charlie before he left. Derek Thompson, who plays Nurse Fairhead, has been part of the cast since the first episode on September 6, 1986.

The episode where Charlie leaves the show first aired tonight, leaving viewers mortified. The programme’s description read: “Charlie’s life hangs in the balance,” which had fans pretty scared, reports the Mirror.

While they were glad to see Zoe back at first, things quickly took a turn for the worse for Charlie. There was also a huge car crash involving a truck filled with gas canisters towards the start of the episode.

But Kyle Marsh, who is a criminal, drove straight into the lorry. A major explosion led to a character being rushed to the Emergency Department (ED) in a recent episode of Casualty. Dr Stevie Nash was curious about why the patient had a police escort.

Paramedic Teddy explained: “He tried to do a runner with a bag of drugs, a big bag,” The character, Kyle, was caught and couldn’t deliver the drugs, putting him in danger from drug lords. He later said he’d probably be safer in prison.

However, things took a turn when Kyle became violent. He attacked a police officer guarding him, ran to the pharmacy, and stole a lot of prescription drugs.

He told Charlie it was “life or death”. Charlie, who has been held hostage before, tried to stop him but dropped the drugs when Kyle pulled out a knife. Then, Kyle stabbed Charlie in the stomach.

Charlie realised he’d been stabbed and fell unconscious. Stevie and Faith found him bleeding and rushed to help.

Fans have since warned others on social media about the intense scenes in the episode. “Just want to say for anyone watching tonight’s episode to not let kids watch it it’s quite bad,” one fan wrote. Another agreed, saying: “I agree. We’re watching it now. Horrendous! ” A third added: “Brilliant episode though but yes not for the children’s eye.”

Yet some argue that it could be a learning experience for kids to see the stabbing scene. One person said: “It’s also good for kids to watch! Many kids don’t understand the danger/damage a knife can do! ” Last year, actor Derek declared he was leaving, causing fans to feel upset.

“The time has come for me to hang up Charlie’s scrubs after the most wonderful 37 years,” he shared. Derek then explained further: “Charlie Fairhead was inspired by a real nurse Pete Salt.

“Together with the writers and producers, I have tried to bring to Charlie the compassion, kindness, heroism and sound judgment that we all see and love in Pete, and I want to say thanks to Pete and everyone else over that time who has inspired me in bringing this character to life.”
